Mher Mkrtchyan Museum

In 2004, the museum of famous Armenian theater and cinema actor Mher Mkrtchyan was established in Gyumri. The museum allows you to get acquainted with the life and work of the artist.

The purpose of the museum is to familiarize the visitors more closely with the life of the artist, to look at his works in a new way. The museum fund never stops expanding and is regularly replenished with new specimens.

One can notice many stage costumes that may seem familiar from this or that movie. As well as various items from movies, the most popular pieces are the commode from the movie "Tango of Our Childhood" and the gallicon from the movie "The Orchestra Boys", which are highly appreciated by visitors. The great actor was awarded many times during his life, at the moment these awards can be seen in the exhibition of the museum. There are also many photographs, books and personal items: pictures, letters, samples of documents, etc.

In 2007, Mher Mkrtchna's granddaughter, Iren Terteryan, handed over 1,500 samples of the actor's personal belongings to the museum, which further filled the museum's collection.

Many different events are held in the museum. Scientific life is also rich, there are a number of thematic matinees, abstract readings, with the participation of various educational and public organizations.
